Pale Tussock Moth
Luke and his mum spotted a very hairy caterpillar in the junior park on Wednesday 10th October 2012, they went home and researched the species.
Pale Tussock Moth fact file- Wingspan 40-60 mm. Fairly common in England and Wales, local in Ireland, both the adults and larvae are quite hairy. Cabbage white butterfly
Jasmin spotted a butterfly on Thursday 18th October and researched it, to find out it was a cabbage white butterfly.
These butterflies love gardens and flowery places.

Centipedes
Lithobius Forficatus
Jasmin spotted a centipede on Saturday 20th October.
Centipedes are fast crawlers and can crawl backwards just as easily.
The scientific name for a common centipede is Lithobius Forficatus.
Centipedes love to live (habitat/home) under stones, in soil and decaying matter.

Ladybird
Lois spotted a yellow ladybird.There are about 5,000 different species of ladybugs in the world. These much loved critters are also known as lady beetles or ladybird beetles.
